The Urban UK Directory
encourages people from the black, minority and ethnic
backgrounds, people with disabilities, and people from the most deprived areas across the
United Kingdom, to apply for jobs, education and training. It contains approximately 200 pages of editorials, adverts and resources to showcase and highlight many of the employment and educational oppurtunities available within major organisations, as well as to create positive
role models from existing students and employees from BME and disabled backgrounds.
The Directory is distributed free of charge to 20,000 organisations throughout the
United Kingdom including schools, colleges, universities, libraries, job centres, BME community centres, housing associations and race equality councils. As well as this, we attend all of the major UK carnivals, disability events and Black History Month
events where we further distribute the directory and talk to people about
the oppurtunities available to them, giving a level of one-to-one interaction which is
not present with other publications.
